Central students are earth savers
VHEC students.
Earlier this year, Vestavia Hills Elementary Central (VHEC) entered the Follett Challenge, a program created to find and reward schools for their work applying technology, content and creativity in the classroom. As part of the challenge, VHEC created the program LINKS (Learning, Integrating, Nurturing, Knowledge, and Success).
"We created LINKS for a more flexible schedule," said VHEC Principal Marian Humphries. "The purpose of this program is to involve all special area teachers."
As part of the competition, VHEC created a short video about what makes their program unique. To view the video or to vote, click here. Votes can be cast one per day until Friday, January 30.
On Feb. 13, semifinalists & people's choice winners will be announced followed by the announcement of the grand prize winner on April 30. Winners will receive a share of $200,000.
