On Saturday, Nov. 1, Royal Automotive will host a one-day test-drive event called "Buick Drive for Your Students" in the VHHS parking lot to raise money for the school's band. The event will take place from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Buick will donate $10 to the band for every participant who test-drives a new Buick. If there are more than 100 test drives, Buick will double its donation to $20 per valid test drive. Up to $10,000 can be raised for the school. Participants must be 21 or older, possess a valid driver’s license and automobile insurance.
The event is part builds off the Buick Achievers Scholarship Program. Funded by the GM Foundation, Buick Achievers Scholarship awards 100 renewable scholarships of up to $25,000 per year. Since its inception in 2011, the program has awarded nearly $16.5 million to approximately 3,300 students.
