Cahaba Heights Apartments
In front of City Hall, children and parents protest a mixed-use development proposal in Cahaba Heights.
The Cahaba Heights Community Foundation is holding a lemonade stand to raise money for its 501(c)3 filing fees and lawyer.
The lemonade stand will be on Saturday, Oct. 24 from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. at the corner of Dolly Ridge Road and Cahaba Road. During the lemonade stand, there will also be a petition push against the proposed mixed-use development in Cahaba Heights.
The development would be built near Cahaba Heights Elementary School. Since the plan for apartments in that area was first proposed, community members have opposed the idea. The city council will vote on the complex at its Oct. 26 meeting.
