Vestavia Lacrosse
Vestavia's Earl Bradberry faces off against an Oak Mountain player.
The Vestavia Lacrosse Organization hosted the second annual Rebel Yell Icebreaker on Jan. 16.
Held at the Sicard Hollow Athletic Complex, the lacrosse tournament featured high school boys teams from Vestavia Hills, Hoover, Mountain Brook, Briarwood, and Hewitt-Trussville, as well as Southern Lacrosse from Mobile and Grissom from Huntsville.
The round-robin tournament format allowed each team three games, and the preseason event gave programs the opportunity to prepare for the upcoming season.
The Vestavia boys lacrosse team that competed in the event includes attackmen Tate Czeschin, Lucas Heslin, Nathan Stein, Marshall Powell, Noah Coffin, Griffin Smith, and Jared Chappell; defenders Graham Thompson, Will Philpot, Chandler Gaffney, Mitchell Appleberry, and Brett Martin; goalies William Wesnor and Alex Ferguson; long stick midfield players Earl Bradberry and Joseph Puglia Jr.; midfielders Amos Alexander, Joseph Travis, Matthew Bates, Brayden Puckett, Collins Dunn, and Charles Sharbel.
