Vestavia Hills High School celebrated their 2016 Homecoming week from Sept. 19-24 with various class competitions. Events such as the Powder Puff Football Game, the Student/Faculty Basketball game and the pep rally brought out the students' school spirit and competitive sides.
The freshmen, sophomore, junior and senior girls decorated their faces with paint and glitter before taking the field on Tuesday night, Sept. 20, for the Powder Puff Game. The seniors took on the freshmen while the juniors met the sophomores on the field.
The Student/Faculty Basketball Game saw a full gym of students out to support their classmates in a matchup against their teachers on Thursday morning, Sept. 22. Despite the entire student team joining the court in the final moments, the faculty pulled out a narrow win by two points.
Friday afternoon brought the pep rally which featured the marching band, cheerleaders, dance teams, majorettes and a tug-of-war contest to rally the students before the night's football game against Helena.
The Rebels proved victorious over the Huskies with a score of 34-12 on Friday night to wrap up a week of Vestavia Rebel pride.
