Johnson
UPDATE: The CEO of a Vestavia Hills day spa is still in the Jefferson County jail, and is now accused of 13 counts of first-degree sexual abuse at the business, as two more charges were filed recently.
LeVan Uriah Johnson, 43, CEO of Oasis Day Spa and Wellness Center, located at 3325 Rocky Ridge Plaza, Suite 211, was booked into the county jail on Jan. 22 around 3 p.m., after being arrested by the Vestavia Hills Police Department, and originally had a $240,000 bond set. Johnson was still in custody as of 3:45 on March 4. His bonds now total $780,000.
Capt. Shane Ware said on Feb. 11 that Johnson had seven additional charges filed against him, and more could be coming. His total bond now totals $660,000.
According to a redacted incident report provided by the Police Department, a victim came forward on Jan. 21 and told police about an incident of sexual abuse that she said occurred Jan. 17 at Oasis. Ware said 11 total victims have now come forward about 11 separate incidents.
Vestavia Hills Police Capt. Johnny Evans previously said Oasis’ business license has not yet been revoked, and said the incident is still under investigation. Evans urged anyone with information to contact the Police Department by calling 205-978-0139.
Oasis did not answer the phone when a reporter called Jan. 26, and an attempt to leave a message was unsuccessful due to the business’ answering machine having a “full memory.”
