This Saturday, a few dozen Vestavia leaders, locals and mountain bikers gathered just over the bridge at McCallum Park to witness the official opening and ribbon cutting celebration for the new mountain biking trail. more

Adventurous hikers and bikers who want to veer off the straight, paved path will have a new trail this summer. more

While many families may be packing up to head to the coast later this month, many others will be spending their spring breaks here in the city of Vestavia Hills. Some spring break camps have registration deadlines approaching. more


The city’s parks and recreation department has installed a bridge at McCallum Park that is now open. The 100-foot stone and wood bridge opens up between 11 and 14 additional acres to visitors. more


During a December Meeting, the City Council approved the reception of a FEMA flood mitigation assistance grant and also gave an update on McCallum Park. more

In September, as a result of campaign efforts, the VHPRF made its first contribution to the City of Vestavia Hills in the amount of $220,000. This money will go directly to funding park expansions and additions. more
