BASKETBALL
The Vestavia Hills High School boys basketball team saw its season come to a close on Feb. 15, as the Rebels fell to Sparkman in the Class 7A Northwest Regional semifinals.
BASEBALL
After the first week of the season, the Vestavia Hills High School baseball team sits with a 2-2 record. The Rebels fell to Athens, 1-0, on Monday to begin the season. On Thursday, the Rebels traveled to Hillcrest-Tuscaloosa and lost, 8-0. They got in the win column on Saturday with a pair of wins over Gadsden City, as they beat the Titans 3-0 and 12-1.
This week, the Rebels host Homewood on Tuesday and play Calera and Pelham at Pelham on Saturday.
SOFTBALL
The Vestavia Hills High softball team is 2-1 after a week of play. The Rebels began their season in Tuscaloosa on Thursday, as Hillcrest-Tuscaloosa defeated the Rebels, 8-4. Vestavia Hills began play in the Patriot Classic in Tuscaloosa on Friday, as the Rebels pulled out a 4-1 win over Demopolis. The tournament was shortened due to rain, but the Rebels defeated Hewitt-Trussville 5-0 on Saturday.
This week, Vestavia Hills plays at Hewitt-Trussville on Thursday and plays in Spain Park's Jag Classic over the weekend.
SOCCER
The Vestavia Hills High boys soccer team is 3-3 after two weeks of action. Last week, the Rebels posted shutout wins over Spain Park (3-0) and Tuscaloosa County (10-0) before splitting a pair of games against Georgia teams over the weekend. On Friday, the Rebels fell to Dalton, 2-1, and beat Northwest Whitfield, 2-1, on Saturday.
The girls team is 5-1 overall after winning all four of its games last week. The Lady Rebels defeated Tuscaloosa County, 10-0, on Tuesday, and they posted a perfect record at the Border Battle over the weekend. Vestavia Hills beat Northgate (Georgia) 6-0 on Friday before handling Enterprise (7-1) and James Clemens (3-1) on Saturday.
