Former Vestavia Hills standout Georgie Salem ripped an RBI double to help Alabama defeat UAB 7-2 at Regions Field on a rainy Tuesday night.
The start of the game was delayed almost two hours by rain and the game finished just before midnight.
A combined 13 pitchers were used in the marathon.
Alabama's Nick Eicholtz got the win, while UAB's Thomas Lowery was tagged with the loss.
Alabama is now 15-12 and UAB is 17-10.
Despite the weather, a crowd of 3,226 attended the game.
