The Vestavia Hills Rebels still have a shot at the Class 7A football playoffs, but they'll need some help. First of all, the Rebels need to knock off Tuscaloosa County on Friday at 7 p.m. on Buddy Anderson Field at Thompson Reynolds Stadium. The Rebels (3-5, 2-4 Class 7A, Region 3) could nab the final spot if Mountain Brook beats Spain Park and Hoover beats Hewitt-Trussville. A three-way tie between VHHS, Hewitt and Tuscaloosa County gives the Rebels the fourth spot. Quarterback Landon Crowder, suffering from a concussion, is day to day, and if he can't go, Brett Jones will likely get the call again.
Additionally, the Lady Rebels volleyball team is in Huntsville on Thursday, competing in the Class 7A North Super Regionals. They face Grissom at 10 a.m. in the opener.
