The Vestavia Hills Fire Department plans to use the $5,000 Cawaco RC&D grant to purchase equipment to improve response capabilities in flooding and other rescue situations.
The Vestavia Hills Fire Department was awarded a $5,000 Cawaco RC&D grant, in partnership with the Alabama Legislature, to purchase equipment to improve response capabilities in flooding and other rescue situations on Wednesday, Oct. 31. Vestavia Hills has multiple locations that are prone to flooding and often challenge the capabilities of early arriving rescue units. This award allows all companies to arrive at flooding events and impact the survivability of victims prior to the arrival of specialized resources.
