The Vestavia Hills Library in the Forest finished off the Spooktacular weekend Saturday on the lawn at City Hall.
The Storybook 5K drew around 20 runners, but the more popular event was the one-mile fun run, which saw almost 100 participants.
Colin Moorhouse finished the 5K in first with a time of 19:46; Sam Culbertson, an eighth grader at Pizitz Middle School, finished second. Chassi Wadell, who coaches cross country at Liberty Park Middle School, was the top female runner and the overall third place finisher with a time of 25:47.
After the 5K, runners of all ages lined up for the one-mile fun run.
In addition to the runs, beloved storybook characters such as prince charming and a certain favorite raccoon were on hand for photos and high-fives.
Dancers from Birmingham Ballet were also at the event, meeting with young fans and promoting their upcoming performance of The Nutcracker.
