The Children’s Department at Vestavia Hills Library in the Forest is hosting a variety of events this month. The library is located at 1221 Montgomery Highway.
Spring Break for Vestavia Hills City Schools is March 26-30, and while many families will be hitting the road, the Vestavia Hills Library in the Forest is offering a week’s worth of activities for those staying in town.
The Spring Break Staycation series has daily events for kids of different ages, on top of the library’s regular programming. For events requiring registration, call 978-0158.
March 26
► Girl Power Bingo: 10:30 a.m. Girls ages first grade and older are invited to play a girl-empowered version of bingo and prizes will be awarded. Registration required.
► Glow-in-the-Dark Fairy Jars Craft: 3 p.m. Kids first grade and older will have the chance to create glow in the dark “Fairy Jars,” a popular craft that has seen internet fame over the last few years. Registration required.
March 27
► Boys Day with Giant Games: 10:30 a.m. From giant Pac Man to giant Scrabble, boys ages first grade and older are invited for a boys’ day at the library.
Lunch will be served and registration required.
► Unfinished Wood Wind Chimes Craft: 3 p.m. Kids interested in some light woodworking can learn some skills in a fun setting by making a wind chime. Participants must be first grade and older, and registration is required.
March 28
► Skin and Bones Comedy: 10:30 a.m. Guests ages 5 and up are invited for a fun and humane society-endorsed animal entertainment show with Skin and Bones and Company, featuring a variety of furry friends.
March 29
► Peter Cottontail and Friends: 10:30 a.m. Kids preschool and up are invited to get into the Easter spirit by meeting everyone’s favorite rabbit for a fun storytime.
