This year's Brazilian Day at Horizon Church was filled with warm smiles and warm weather, with an abundance of delicious, authentic food options.
The fourth annual free event will use the money people purchased food and goods with to "support missionaries and projects in the United States and around the world," according to their website, which includes 18 different missions projects on a monthly basis.
Brazilian Day brought families from all over Vestavia and the greater Birmingham area to try Brazilian food, hear live music, watch a Brazilian jiu-jitsu presentation, play in the kids area and more on Saturday, Oct. 6, from 11 a.m. until 6 p.m. The popular event showcased Brazilian culture and allowed people to try food like tamales in corn husks, meat and cheese-filled empanadas and various traditional deserts.
