Called Women's Retreat
Vestavia Hills Methodist Church will host its CALLED Women’s Retreat on Feb. 20-21 at Tyson Hall.
The retreat begins Friday from 6 to 9 p.m. and continues Saturday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Organizers have invited two featured speakers for the weekend: Dr. Lisa Stamps and Alexa James.
Stamps is an educational consultant and mentor who previously served as superintendent of Daleville City Schools and director of leadership development for the Alabama Association of School Boards. After nearly 30 years in education, she now spends her time flying planes, attending church, writing, playing guitar and helping others through grief.
James is the founder of Blanket Fort Hope, a nonprofit human trafficking advocacy organization she launched in 2015. She has dedicated her life to helping victims of human trafficking find safety and education while raising awareness about the issue.
The $50 registration fee includes dinner Friday night, breakfast and lunch Saturday, and supplies. To register, visit vhmc.tpsdb.com//OnlineReg/1173.
