Vestavia Hills
A protest rally will be held Saturday, May 2 at Vestavia Hills City Hall to support the Alabama Medical Marijuana Patient Safe Access Act. The protest is scheduled to begin at 1 p.m.
Alabama Safe Access Project and Alabama Medical Marijuana Coalition are organizing the event and are encouraging residents of Senator Jabo Waggoner’s home district to come out to show support of the issue and the act, also known as SB-326. Organizers are hoping the event will encourage the senator to support the bill, which is currently under debate by the state senate.
Speakers at the event will include:
- Ron Crumpton: executive director of Alabama Safe Access Project and Democratic candidate for United States Senate.
- Chris Butts: executive director of Alabama Medical Marijuana Coalition.
- Paula Coleman Greenaway: aunt of Mary Ann Coleman, attorney, mother of three.
- Will White: medically retired parachute infantry sergeant who served two tours of Iraq and two tours of Afghanistan, Purple Heart recipient.
