The Vestavia Hills Police Department made three arrests following a vehicle pursuit Friday evening.
At 7:51 p.m. Friday, Oct. 28, VHPD Captain Kevin York said they received a call of a robbery of a person at the Red Roof Inn at 1466 Montgomery Highway. The call gave the description of two black males and a green Chevy Tahoe having fled the scene.
As officers were responding to the call, York said an officer spotted a green Tahoe and followed the vehicle onto northbound Interstate 65. When the officer attempted to make a traffic stop, the vehicle fled, leading officers on a high-speed chase on I-65 through Homewood and into Birmingham.
York said the vehicle then exited onto the Bessemer super highway, where it attempted to make a turn but hit a tree.
The two male suspects exited the vehicle, and one was captured without incident. The other fled the scene, and fired shots at the pursuing officer.
A female suspect was also in the vehicle, and was taken into custody at the scene without incident.
York said the female suspect, identified later as Chyna Wilson, gave false information after her arrest that will lead to additional charges.
Charges from the arrests include: Christopher Leshore, 19, of Brighton, one count of attempted murder and two counts of robbery in the first degree, with a bond set at $110,00; Samarjay Leshore, 18, of Brighton, two counts of robbery in the first degree, with a bond set at $60,000; Chyna Wilson, 23, of Hoover, two counts of robbery in the first degree, with a bond set at $60,000. Wilson is expected to receive additional charges for providing false information to police after her arrest.
