Susann Montgomery-Clark, president of the Megan Montgomery Foundation, which works to prevent relationship and domestic violence, will be the guest speaker for the Vestavia Hills Chamber of Commerce luncheon on Tuesday, Feb. 11.
One of Montgomery-Clark’s daughters, Megan Montgomery, was killed by her estranged husband in 2019 four days before she was set to testify in court against him in a domestic violence case.
Her mother, stepfather Rod Clark and sister Meredith Montgomery started the nonprofit in 2021 in her memory in an effort to educate people about healthy relationships, empower young adults to recognize unhealthy behaviors and stop relationship violence before it starts.
Tuesday’s chamber luncheon will be at the Vestavia Country Club at 400 Beaumont Drive. Networking begins at 11:30 a.m., and the program begins at noon and goes to about 1 p.m. Reservations cost $25 through Feb. 6 and $30 after that.
Register at the Vestavia Hills Chamber of Commerce website.
