Vestavia Hills city hall
The former Vestavia Hills city hall is set to be demolished on Jan. 4, 2016.
The city of Vestavia Hills on Friday closed on the sale of the former city hall property to Chick-fil-A, clearing the way for construction for the restaurant, City Manager Jeff Downes told the City Council tonight.
The city received the net proceeds from the sale of the property at 513 Montgomery Highway -- $1,229,371 – this morning, Downes said.
Chick-fil-A plans to start demolition of the building on Jan. 4 and be open by June 2, Downes said.
The new city hall is at 1032 Montgomery Highway behind Red Lobster.
