Vestavia Hills Library in the Forest will host "Art Journals Series with Darla," a three-week workshop led by local artist Darla Williamson beginning Monday, Aug. 17.
The series will meet from 6-7 p.m. on Aug. 17, Aug. 24 and Aug. 31 in the library's Community Room.
Participants will create a one-of-a-kind journal from scratch while learning techniques such as bookmaking, painting, collage and Zentangle. By the end of the series, attendees will have completed a personalized art journal filled with their own creative work.
The free program is open to adults 18 and older. Registration is required through the library's website.
