Construction on Rocky Ridge, Tyler Road, Highway 75

Nothing is more frustrating than an unexpected traffic jam. (Except maybe getting caught in traffic while every radio station is on commercial break.) Here’s an update on road construction that may affect your commute:

  • The project to repave Rocky Ridge Road is almost complete done, but shoulder work, striping, and replacing some reflectors may cause minor delays.
  • Work will be done on Tyler Road from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Those needing to access Tyler Road from side streets will need to watch for the pilot car and fall in line behind it.
  • Alagasco will be replacing gas lines throughout Homewood.
  • Monday, August 8 at 7 p.m. the I-59 Northbound (inside) 2 lanes near Milepost 126 will be closed until approximately 6 a.m. on Tuesday, August 9 as the project to replace the 12th Ave N Bridge continues.
  • Tuesday, August 9 to Tuesday, August 16, Highway 75 northbound and southbound will be reduced to one lane in each direction from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., approximately 3 miles north of Pinson near the intersection of Clay Palmerdale Road. During this time, workers will install asphalt pavement near the new entrance to the Birmingham Northern Beltline. Motorists are advised to use extreme caution in this area.
