On Friday, June 5, the community is invited to Artists Incorporated Art Gallery for a reception honoring the work of several artists. The reception will be held 4:30-8:30 p.m. Hors d'oeuvres and wine will be available.
This week's featured artists are Doris Coley, Rick McCrary, Virginia Mellor Martin, Lowell Vann and Barbara Prior.
Barbara Prior has lived in Vestavia Hills since 1990. She paints in watercolors, pen and ink, and oils. She says people frequently ask her to do house portraits or pet portraits which they give as personalized gifts.
"Inspiration is everywhere and I always carry a camera to capture what I see," Prior said. "Flowers are always enticing, but landscapes catch my eye as do interesting scenes and objects from travels."
Artists Incorporated Art Gallery, located in the “Little Red Barn” on Morgan Drive in Vestavia Hills, displays work from more than 50 local artists. On the first Friday of each month, the public is invited to a Featured Artist reception to enjoy refreshments and meet the artists.
