Senior citizens by the hundreds and community leaders will gather at the Vestavia Hills Civic Center on Aug. 21 to celebrate National Senior Citizen's Day.

This year's celebration will include an open house from 2pm to 4 pm at the Seniors Lodge of the Vestavia Hills Civic Center and feature speakers and refreshments. The event in 2013 drew more than 200 older adults and community members to the occasion.
