Rebels defeat Florence, Decatur up next in playoffs
Jordan Johnson scored three touchdowns to lead the Vestavia Hills Rebels to a 21-7 victory over Florence High School.
Johnson, who also totaled 145 yards rushing, continued his outstanding 2013 season by leading the dominant Rebels ground attack.
Vestavia's defense also played a superior game; the average Florence offensive drive started at their own 28 yard line. The Rebels seized the opportunity of defending against a Florence team without its star quarterback, Kendrick Doss, who did not play because of a high fever.
Vestavia Hills (8-2) begins its playoff march next week against Decatur.
