5 Vestavia teams in Over the Mountain football championship

Five youth football teams are in the Over the Mountain football championship this weekend.

Champion games will be on Sunday, Nov. 15 at Hoover High School.

The third and fourth grade Vestavia Falcons face off against the Hoover Cowboys at 2 p.m. The fifth grade Vestavia Raiders and Vestavia Titans will play each other at 3:30 p.m. The sixth grade Vestavia Colts and Vestavia Broncos will compete at 5 p.m.

The Over the Mountain Football League is open to players in third through sixth grade regardless of school district. The program’s philosophy is to develop football fundamentals, encourage participation and enjoy playing the game, according to the league’s website.
