VHEW 1st-graders move with music

First-graders at Vestavia Hills Elementary West shared music on the move with family, friends and fellow students in March.

The first-graders performed their spring musical “Away We Go!” under the direction of West’s music teacher, Trudye Confessore. Students sang songs that celebrated movement and forms of transportation. 

Each class was given time on stage, and the first-graders played instruments, danced and performed songs including “Round the Mountain,” “New River Train” and “The Happy Wanderer.”
