19 VHHS students named National Merit Semifinalists

Officials of the National Merit Scholarship Corporation (NMSC) announced the names of approximately 16,000 Semifinalists in the 59th annual National Merit Scholarship Program. About 1.5 million juniors in more than 22,000 high schools entered the National Merit Scholarship Program by taking the Preliminary SAT/National Merit Qualifying Test (PSAT/NMSQT), which serves as an initial screen of the program entrants.  The nationwide pool of Semifinalists, representing less than one percent of high school seniors, includes the highest scoring entrants in each state.

Vestavia Hills High School is proud to announce 19 seniors who have been identified as National Merit Semifinalists. These seniors will now compete for National Merit Finalist status through an application process.
