On Saturday, Feb. 24, the Vestavia Hills City Schools Foundation presented its annual fundraiser, Dinner & Diamonds.

In addition to enjoying hors d'oeuvres and refreshments, guests of the event were welcome to purchase "ring bling" for a chance to own a diamond necklace, participate in a wine and bourbon ring toss and bid on items in a silent auction as a way to raise money for city schools.

VHCSF Executive Director Tait Stoddard said the money raised from the event goes to the Foundation and then to the Vestavia Hills City Schools. The Foundation also helps fund grant requests from Vestavia teachers and schools throughout the year.

The event served as a way to bring the community, board members, elected officials and merchants together in support of all Vestavia schools.

"This is one Vestavia, not just one school," Stoddard said.
