Vestavia City Schools to close early due to weather

Due to inclement weather approaching the area, Vestavia Hills City Schools will close each of its schools 30 minutes early today, Friday, Jan. 22.

In a news release, communication and public relations specialist Whit McGhee said all extended day and evening activities are also canceled.

Dismissal times, which vary because of Vestavia's staggered schedule, are as follows: 

2:05 p.m. - Elementary East, Elementary West, Cahaba Heights and Liberty Park

2:15 p.m. - Elementary Central

2:35 p.m. - Louis Pizitz Middle School and Liberty Park Middle School

2:50 p.m. - High School.
