School registration delayed, VHHS walk-throughs going on as planned

Online and in-person registration for Vestavia Hills City Schools for the 2016-2017 school year has been put on hold until a technical issue can be resolved.

When registration opened Friday, some users experienced discrepancies with school fees.

Communications specialist Whit McGhee said they are waiting on InfoSnap, the school's registration vendor, to fix the problem before any online or in-person registration can continue. As of Wednesday morning, the system was still down.

"We're in a holding pattern at the moment," McGhee said. "Our folks are working as hard as they can with InfoSnap to get it back online."

McGhee said they anticipate a prompt resolution, and there will be a make-up in-person registration day to aid with the inconvenience.

However, some back-to-school events, such as the walk-throughs at Vestavia Hills High School, will continue as scheduled.

VHHS will welcome students Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday for walk-throughs and junior and senior students will be able to pick up their parking decals. Printed schedules and locker numbers will be available for all students, and students and parents were reminded to come at their class's designated time.

We will update this story as more information becomes available. Updated information can also be found at the Vestavia Hills City Schools Facebook page.
