Students, parents and alumni gathered in front of Vestavia Hills High School for a night of street food and celebration Thursday.

The inaugural Eat, Roll, Rebel event featured multiple food trucks, including iCantina and Eugene's Hot Chicken, which both had lines that stretched down the carpool lane. Snapper Grabbers seafood truck and Greg's Hot Dogs and Lazy Boy BBQ were also on site and popular, as well as NOLA Sweet Ice and more.

In addition to the food, PTO and student volunteers were giving tours of the high school, and there was also a "selfie booth" to take commemorative photos. Local businesses also gave away prizes.

The PTO fundraiser was aimed to bring together former, current and future Rebels to celebrate Homecoming in a new way, PTO volunteer Cindy Cherry said.

The Rebels will take on Helena Friday night for their Homecoming game at 7 p.m.
