Vestavia Hills seniors to host yard sale

Senior citizens in Vestavia Hills will host a yard sale benefitting the senior center on June 19 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the New Merkle House located at 4405 Dolly Ridge Road.

Seniors have donated many items for the sale including pictures, lamps, books, baskets and more. One contributor, a former dealer at Gardendale Antiques Mall, donated two booths worth of antiques for the sale.

The sale will benefit programs at the senior center, which does not receive an annual budget from the city, New Merkle House Manager Joyce Dawkins said.
