While rain moved the festivities of Vestavia Hills' annual Christmas tree lighting indoors, it did not dampen the holiday spirit.

The Christmas tree lighting, held on Dec. 1, attracted hundreds of attendees despite rainy weather. Several groups performed at Vestavia Hills City Hall, including the Vestavia Hills Rockettes, choral groups and the Magic City Nutcracker.

The large crowd meant some attendees had to share time in the room, moving in and out so that everyone could see some of the performances.

At the end of the night, the crowd moved outdoors for the tree lighting.
