Sen. Richard Shelby to speak in Vestavia Hills this weekend

U.S. Sen. Richard Shelby is set to speak at this month’s meeting of the Mid-Alabama Republican Club.

The meeting is set for Saturday, Jan. 9, and Shelby will give a report on Washington D.C. as he speaks to the club.

“With all the activity in Washington these days, it’s a real privilege to get a report from our senior senator,” said Mayor Alberto “Butch” Zaragoza, the incoming president of MARC. “We are grateful he is taking the time to come speak with us.

The meeting starts at 9 a.m. at the Vestavia Hills Public Library and is free and open to the public. While there are no fees or dues with MARC, there will be a collection at the meeting to offset costs associated with the club’s programs.
