This Saturday, the Mid-Alabama Republican Club is hosting its “MARC Election All-Stars” during a political panel on the presidential race.

The All-Stars include former state representative Paul DeMarco, who will serve as moderator, as well as panelists Jim Faherty, Marty Connors and Lee Davis.

Faherty is a news anchor and political reporter who has moderated past political debates, including one during last year’s primary for the 6th Congressional District. Connors is the former chairman of the state Republican Party and has been involved in multiple campaigns, including Ronald Reagan’s and Mitt Romney’s.

Davis is a Birmingham talk radio host and has worked for former Birmingham Mayor George Seibels and U.S. Senate Candidate Bill Cabaniss.

In addition to the panel, Alabama Republican Party chairman Terry Lathan will make brief remarks at the MARC meeting.

“I encourage residents of our area to attend,” said MARC President Vestavia Hills Mayor Alberto  Zaragoza. “This panel was a high point for MARC last year, and there were tremendous requests for the All-Stars to return. It’s a great opportunity to openly discuss political issues for our country.”

The meeting will be at Vestavia Hills Public Library, located at 1221 Montgomery Highway, on March 12. Breakfast and fellowship start at 8:30 a.m., and the meeting starts at 9 a.m. The meeting is open to the public and free to attend. MARC does not have dues for its club, but does take up a collection to offset costs. There will be a small charge for coffee, biscuits and donuts at the meeting.
