Meet Addie Prewitt

VHHS student Addie Prewitt will be playing the Christmas Spirit in the premiere of the Magic City Nutcracker at Vestavia Hills United Methodist Church Dec. 6-8.

Bio

Addie started dancing at the Children's Dance Foundation when she was three and moved to Vestavia Dance in elementary school where she currently studies ballet, pointe, jazz and lyrical.

She dances on the VHHS Varsity Rebelette team that placed second in the nation in the jazz division at the National Dance Association national competition in Orlando, Fla. One of her favorite things about dancing is being able to perform sacred dance at Vestavia HIlls United Methodist.

She is also a varsity high jumper on the VHHS Track Team. She loves volunteering with the students with special needs in the school system.

Why is she excited about playing the Christmas Spirit?

"I'm looking forward to exploring the role of a Christmas spirit. It's part fairy, part angel, part child. I love Christmas and the hope and peace that it represents. And I think this role embodies the idea of hope during a time of year that is often hard for some people. I'm thrilled to have been given the  chance to do this role."
