Three of those men, Dr. Jeff Dugas, Daryl Grant and Evan Ray, are representing the city of Vestavia Hills.

Over the month of October, the 24 men will raise a minimum of $2,500 for the American Cancer Society's breast cancer efforts, and the gentleman that raises the most will be declared the Real man of the Year for 2016.

Dugas is an orthopedic physician at St. Vincent's in Birmingham, and provides medical consultation for several area sports teams, including Vestavia Hills High School. Grant is the Managing Director at KPMG accounting firm, and is married to District Judge Shera Grant. Ray is  president and COO of St. Vincent's Birmingham, and is a Liberty Park resident.

In addition to raising funds, the men will promote breast cancer awareness and promoting education in an effort to increase early detection.

The campaign kicked off on Sept. 22 at Carrigan's Public House.

Last year, Gene Hallman, David Carrington and Dr. Clint Holladay represented Vestavia Hills in the campaign.
