Local author to celebrate publishing 100 books

In 2011, Vestavia Hills resident Darla Hall created a sports-focused activity book for a local boy who was hit by a car outside of his school.

The boy was bored in the hospital and wanted something to work on, and as a result, Hall created In the Sports Zone activity books. Since then, Hall has written and published 100 of the sports-focused activity books.

To celebrate, Hall is holding a book signing and book drive for Children’s of Alabama on Dec. 17. The celebration will be from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Books-a-Million at Brookwood Mall.

During the celebration, Hall will sign books, and attendees will have the chance to purchase books to donate to Children’s of Alabama.
