Two holiday markets will once again make their way to Vestavia in the month of November.

MAGICAL MARKETPLACE

For the 20th year, Vestavia Hills United Methodist Church will host Magical Marketplace, featuring various vendors and opportunities to purchase gifts and other items to kick off the holiday season.

This year’s event will be held Nov. 16 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Tyson Hall. The church, located at 2061 Kentucky Avenue, will feature art, pottery, jewelry, baked goods, stationery, baby gifts, children’s clothing, holiday treats and more from different vendors.

The money from the event will go toward Unless U, which specializes in adult education and is based in Vestavia. Timmy Collins, director of communications for VHUMC, said the money raised will go toward helping Unless U obtain a second building in Vestavia Hills.

Boxed lunches are available for $7, Collins said.

HOLIDAY MARKET

St. Mark United Methodist Church will once again host a Holiday Market. This year’s event is set for Nov. 10 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the church, located on 2901 Columbiana Road.

Carol Moats with the church said this is the 11th year the event has been held, and all the money raised from the event goes toward local and global missions at the church.

The United Methodist Women put on the event, working all year to prepare, and each item for sale is either handmade or donated. Items will include Christmas gifts, decorations and other various merchandise.

“In four hours, we make enough to fund every mission in the church,” Moats said.

Coffee will also be available, and cash, check or card is accepted for payment.
