Diabetes fundraiser to be held at Moe’s BBQ

Elizabeth Bendall and her family are hoping that Monday will be a Night of Hope.

Bendall, a freshman cheerleader at Vestavia Hills High School, was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes in August 2014. Since her diagnosis, she has worked to raise funds to find a cure for diabetes.

This Monday, Bendall is teaming up with Moe’s BBQ on Rocky Ridge Road for the second annual “Night of Hope” diabetes fundraiser.

Moe’s is donating proceeds from sales throughout the day, including dine in and drive through. Last year the fundraiser raised nearly $3,000. The event was so popular that additional food had to be brought in from other Moe’s locations.

Moe's BBQ is located at 2520 Rocky Ridge Road. A percentage of sales will be donated to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Fund.
