VHHS boys and girls soccer teams named area champions

In the first year of the AHSAA 7A division, both the boys and girls soccer teams from Vestavia Hills High School finished in first place in area 6 and qualified for the 7A state playoffs. 

The state playoffs begin Tuesday, April 28 with the Girls team facing Thompson High School at 5 p.m. at VHHS. That game will be followed by the matchup between the defending State Champion VHHS boys soccer team and Oak Mountain High School at 7 p.m. at VHHS, in a rematch of last year's state championship game.  

 Admission is $6 per person at the gate.
