Callie Barganier is in the top five Miss Homecoming candidates at Auburn University.

Barganier went to Vestavia Hills High School and is now a senior at Auburn. She was nominated to Homecoming Court by her sorority, Alpha Gamma Delta. Following the nomination, she went through two interview rounds before making it to the top five.

“I’m still taking it all in,” Barganier said. "I’m shocked an honored. It’s just an amazing opportunity.”

The next step is campaigning, which goes on during Homecoming Week from Sept. 28-Oct. 3. The winner will be announced at the homecoming game against the San Jose Spartans.

“I know it’s going to be busy, and I know it’s going to be a lot, but the girls I’m standing next to. Holy cow I just feel so honored,” Barganier said.

While most of the campaigning week relies on student involvement, Barganier said she would also appreciate support from back home.

“All I want for this [homecoming] week is to glorify the Lord in everything that I do … If Vestavia would just help me do that and just help me do that this week, I would be so grateful,” Barganier said.
