Saint Mark to host stained glass celebration

Saint Mark United Methodist will hold a Celebration of the Stained Glass Windows on Sunday, May 5 at 7 p.m., and everyone from the community is invited.

Those gathered will be led on an experiential journey through the stained glass windows of Saint Mark, which tell of the mystery of God’s love and the life and presence of Christ.

A new book featuring the meaning of the symbols on church’s windows will be unveiled and available for purchase for a small donation at a reception following the program.

Stained glass windows have been a part of Saint Mark’s worship life for more than 15 years.

“Since ancient times, Christian art has been used to tell the sacred story to pilgrims and participants alike,” Pastor Steve West said. “I am honored to serve a church with such a beautiful sanctuary, surrounded by windows that reflect a spirituality and theology I resonate with.”
