Police taking back prescription drugs this weekend

Vestavia Hills Police is participating in the 10th Annual National Prescription Drug Take-Back Day on Saturday, Sept. 26.

Anyone wanting to dispose of prescription drugs can stop by VHPD’s East Precinct in Cahaba Heights or at City Hall from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Police officers will be on site to take back and properly dispose of prescription drugs.

Liquids, needles and sharp objects will not be accepted. Pills and pouches will be accepted.

VHPD’s East Precinct is located at 3241 Cahaba Heights Road, and City Hall is located at 513 Montgomery Hwy. Other collection sites can be found at the DEA website.
