Police respond to report of suspicious package; individual detained

Police received a call about suspicious activity at the Vestavia Hills City Center this afternoon.

The call came in around noon, and the caller reported a suspicious package and suspicious female walking around the area. Police responded and contained the area, locating the woman.

Hoover Police Department assisted, and the package was later deemed safe. The individual is being detained and questioned by VHPD detectives, and there have been no charges as of press time.
