Multiple Vestavia Hills and Mountain Brook police officers were at the scene at Cahaba River Road near Highway 280 responding to a fight call Wednesday afternoon.

Captain Greg Hagood of the Mountain Brook Police Department said his department received the call around 4 p.m. from a Jefferson County school bus. The bus left the scene around 4:35 p.m.

“A student seated at the back of the bus and a student at the front of the bus got into an altercation,” Hagood said.

The altercation was verbal only, Hagood said, but the bus driver chose to pull over and call police as a precaution.
