Police charge two with identity theft

Two Atlanta residents were charged with identity theft after trying to use three different credit cards to purchase a $250 gift card, according to the Vestavia Hills Police Department.

VHPD responded to the Rite Aid on Crosshaven Drive on June 14 at 1:10 p.m. and talked to an alert employee. A physical description of the suspect and a description of their vehicle was provided, and a VHPD patrol officer found the suspect at a CVS Pharmacy on Crosshaven Drive.

Atlanta residents Shaniece N. Ross, 23, and Davon Q. Valentine, 25, were both arrested. Investigators obtained warrants for Ross and Valentine. Ross was charged with identity theft and fraudulent use of a credit card, and Valentine was charged with identity theft. Both are in Jefferson County Jail and may face further charges, as the investigation is on-going.
