The Vestavia Hills Parks and Recreation Foundation (VHPRF) is a nonprofit whose mission is to strengthen our local community through investments in parks and recreational activities for people of all ages. We are committed to investing time and resources into community parks, green spaces and the environment as well as programs to promote a healthy, thriving community, supporting mind, body and spirit.

Currently, the VHPRF is raising funds for a capital campaign called “Partners in Healthy Living.” This campaign is an initiative of the VHPRF led by a partnership between the Foundation, the Parks and Recreation Board, the City and the citizens of Vestavia Hills.

Our goals with this campaign are to expand McCallum Park with additional green space and walking trails and to open a 40-acre community park on Sicard Hollow Road adjacent to the already-existing new athletic complex, which was also funded through this campaign.

In September, as a result of campaign efforts, the VHPRF made its first contribution to the City of Vestavia Hills in the amount of $220,000. This money will go directly to funding these park expansions and additions.
