Narcotics search warrant leads to arrest

A search warrant served by Vestavia Hills Police led to the arrest of Birmingham resident Cheryl Bahakel, 57.

VHPD’s Tactical Unit and Special Investigations Division served a narcotics search warrant in the 4200 block of Groover Drive on Friday, June 5 and obtained felony arrest warrants the same day.

VHPD investigators obtained arrest warrants for three charges of unlawful distribution of a controlled substance, one charge of unlawful possession of a controlled substance and one charge of unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia through the Jefferson County District Attorney’s Office.

Bahakel is being transferred to Jefferson County Jail, and her bond is set at $105,300.
