Missing child found after 13 years

A child who was reported missing in August 2002 was recently found safe and unharmed in Cleveland, Ohio.

FBI Agents contacted Vestavia Hills Police Department on Nov. 1 regarding the child, Julian Hernandez. Hernandez was reported missing by his mother back in 2002.

At the time of the abduction, it was suspected Hernandez was taken as a non-custodial parental abduction. His mother and family were notified of his recovery.

Members of the FBI’s Violent Crime Task Force in Cleveland worked with the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children, VHPD and the Birmingham Division of the FBI.

The child’s father, Bobby Hernandez was arrested and charged by Cuyahoga County Court in connection with the abduction. He will also face charges in Jefferson County for the 2002 abduction. Bobby Hernandez may face further charges at a later date.
